Job Title: PARALEGAL 23-2011.00
Job Duties: Responsible for the preparation of summons, subpoenas, engagement letters, tables of contents, tables of authorities, articles of incorporation, by-laws, organizational meetings, business license applications, annual corporation reports. Assists attorneys in the preparation of motions, appeal briefs, and complaints. Research and download cases using Lexis/Nexis. Generates legal billings by use of Timeslips 2008; creates timelines using TimeMap 4; converts deposition transcripts by suing TextMap 2; creates spreadsheets using Excel 2003. Acts as law librarian, keeping and monitoring to ensure they are up to date. Investigates facts by creating and searching court file databases. Organizes and maintains office legal files. Files documents with court using Lexis/Nexis E-Filing. Arranges for service of documents. Obtains legal research materials from law libraries. Communicates with other law offices regarding documents. Performs other legal duties as directed.

Qualification Requirements: ER Preference: College graduate with two (2) years experience as a Paralegal. Must be able to handle multiple tasks in fast-paced environment. Must be proficient in Wordperfect 11, Microsoft Office 2003, Excel, Timeslips, TimeMap, TextMap, Lexis/Nexis Electronic Filing, and Adobe Acrobat. O-Net: Title Job Zone Three: Medium Preparation Needed Overall Experience Previous work-related skill, knowledge, or experience is required for these occupations. For example, an electrician must have completed three or four years of apprenticeship or several years of vocational training, and often must have passed a licensing exam, in order to perform the job. Job Training Employees in these occupations usually need one or two years of training involving both on-the-job experience and informal training with experienced workers.
