Job Duties: Job Vacancy Announcement Job Vacancy No. 09-024 Opening Date: 06/10/09 Closing Date: 08/25/09 INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (IT) MANAGER DUTIES: Under the overall supervision of the Executive Director or his/her designee, the incumbent’s duties and responsibilities are as follows. Supervises staff to include: prioritizing and assigning work; conducting performance evaluations; ensuring staff are trained; and making hiring, termination, and disciplinary recommendations. Manages the day-to-day operations of the department to include: determining hardware, software, date files, safe storage and facility needs; providing technical assistance; and, preparing and administering the budget. Tunes and analyzes software and hardware systems to assure optimum performance; ensures integrity of date. Maintains functionality of computer hardware, software and networking equipment and systems to include determining optimum system requirements and upgrades and ensuring system security. Troubleshoots complex computer problems and performs system and computer maintenance and repair. Conducts internal training on software and operations for new users. Plans, implements and monitors short and long-term goals for the department. Performs other duties of a similar nature or level. SUBJECT TO PRE-EMPLOYMENT DRUG SCREENING. LOCATION: COMMONWEALTH UTILITIES CORPORATION, Administration, SAIPAN MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, or a related field and five years of progressively responsible information systems experience, including tow years of supervisory experience. Knowledge of: Computer hardware and peripherals; Networking techniques; Customer service techniques; Windows and other applicable software programs; Network operating systems and protocol. Skill in: Troubleshooting computer and hardware problems; Maintaining databases; Repairing, and maintaining personal computers; Troubleshooting system connectivity issues; Maintaining, repairing, and setting up printers; Checking systems for functionality; Maintaining and supporting computer peripheral devices; Documenting computer problems and solutions; Using computers and related software applications; Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction. Must have a valid CNMI Driver’s License. APPLICANTS MAY BE TESTED. COMPENSATION: $42,312.00 - $56,592.00 per annum.
