| Job Duties: | Job Vacancy Announcement Job Vacancy No. 09-023 Opening Date: 06/10/09 Closing Date: 08/25/09 INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (IT) SPECIALIST DUTIES: Under the overall supervision of the IT Manager or his/her designee, the incumbent’s duties and responsibilities are as follows. Provides support to computer end users over the phone and in person. Troubleshoots end user and system connectivity problems; researches computer related problems; documents issues and solutions. Maintains and repairs a variety of computer peripheral devices and accessories, including printers, keyboards, scanners, monitors, and/or other related equipment. Maintains hardware/software support for MRDs, MVRS, Unitime and biometric clocks. Installs, sets up and configures computers, workstations and other equipment. Maintains and monitors user accounts. Creates and maintains CUC website. Performs backup procedures. Assists in evaluating and testing new software and equipment. Performs other duties of a similar nature or level. SUBJECT TO PRE-EMPLOYMENT DRUG SCREENING. LOCATION: COMMONWEALTH UTILITIES CORPORATION, Administration, SAIPAN MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Associate Degree in Computer Science, or a related field and two years of related computer experience. Knowledge of: Computer hardware and peripherals; Networking techniques; Customer service techniques; Windows and other applicable software programs; Network operating systems and protocol. Skill in: Troubleshooting computer and hardware problems; Maintaining databases; Repairing, and maintaining personal computers; Troubleshooting system connectivity issues; Maintaining, repairing, and setting up printers; Checking systems for functionality; Maintaining and supporting computer peripheral devices; Documenting computer problems and solutions; Using computers and related software applications; Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.
