Job Duties: JOB VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT JVA NO. 09-038 Opening Date: 08/19/09 Closing Date: 08/25/09 COMMUNICATIONS OPERATOR DUTIES: Under the overall supervision of the Communications Manager or his/her designee, the incumbent’s duties and responsibilities are as follows. Monitors radio communications in order to dispatch crews for troubleshooting. Answers incoming calls reporting complaints on water, sewer or power problems. Maintains file systems. Prepares overtime requests for troubleshooters. Performs data entry; logs in customer complaints. Follows up with customers in order to verity customer’s experience. Performs other duties of a similar nature or level. SUBJECT TO PRE-EMPLOYMENT DRUG SCREENING. LOCATION: COMMONWEALTH UTILITIES CORPORATION, CONTROL, SAIPAN MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma, or G.E.D., and two years of related trades or customer service experience. Knowledge of: Customer service techniques; Telephone etiquette; Radios. Skill in: Providing customer service; Using two-way radios; Using computers and related software applications; Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor; the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.
