Job Title: Accounting Manager 13-2011.01
Job Duties: Responsible for developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial statements. Prepare annual budget and forecasting activities. Collaborate with the various department managers to support overall department goals and objectives. Monitors and analyzes department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy. Assist in development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department. Handle personnel issues relating to staff conflicts, absenteeism and performance issues and provide training to new and existing staff as needed. Establish goals and objectives for each year and monitor and advise on the progress to enhance the professional development of accounting staff. Support Group Controller with special projects and workflow process improvements. Work with Group Controller to ensure a clean and timely year end audit. Respond to inquiries from the Corporate Officers, Group Controller,and other firm-wide managers regarding financial results, special reporting requests and other reports.

Qualification Requirements: ER Preference: BA/BS in Business with an emphasis in Accounting. 2-4 years prior supervisory experience and a thorough understanding of financial reporting including budget preparation and general ledger structure. Must be computer literate and must have strong experience with automated accounting system like MS Excel/Word, Peachtree, and Kronos Payroll System. Must be able to thrive in a fast-pace setting. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet required deadlines. O-Net: Title Job Zone Four: Considerable Preparation Needed Overall Experience A minimum of two to four years of work-related skill, knowledge, or experience is needed for these occupations. For example, an accountant must complete four years of college and work for several years in accounting to be considered qualified.
