| Job Duties: | Compiles and types transaction billing documents listing details of freight shipped carrier, types information on manifest. Computes totals of document items. Compares figures and total on documents with statement of accounts submitted by Accounting Department to verify accuracy of documents. Handles documentation & coordination for shipments of assigned accounts in accordance with documented procedures and in compliance with shipper/consignee/station/agent requirements. Receives notices of shipments. Works directly with certain employees of assigned accounts to facilitate shipments and ensure that all requirements of shipper/consignee are complied with. Prepares status reports and corresponding updates, necessary and in accordance with shipper/consignee/station/agent requirements. Monitor movements of shipments from cargo acceptance to the sending of pre-alerts and other reports required by shipper/consignee/station/agent. Send out pre-alerts to station/agent at destination. Attends to customer inquiries, performs invoicing. Ensures availability of status information for every stage of shipment where required. Settles discrepancies in documents, if any. Works with Trucking & Hauling/WOAS Supervisor for any cargo volume discrepancies. Performs other related duties as required or assigned.Compile data, compute fees and charges, and prepare invoices for billing purposes. Duties include computing costs and calculating rates for goods, services, and shipment of goods; posting data; and keeping other relevant records. May involve use of computer or typewriter, calculator, and adding and bookkeeping machines.Verify accuracy of billing data and revise any errors. Operate typing, adding, calculating, and billing machines. Prepare itemized statements, bills, or invoices; and record amounts due for items purchased or services rendered. Review documents such as purchase orders, sales tickets, charge slips, or hospital records in order to compute fees and charges due. Perform bookkeeping work, including posting data and keeping other records concerning costs of goods and services and the shipment of goods. Keep records of invoices and support documents. Resolve discrepancies in accounting records. Type billing documents, shipping labels, credit memorandums, and credit forms, using typewriters or computers. Contact customers in order to obtain or relay account information. Compute credit terms, discounts, shipment charges, and rates for goods and services in order to complete billing documents. |
