Job Title: Maintenance Worker, Municipal 51-9198.00
Job Duties: Performs any combination of ff.duties to maintain and repair property of municipality, using variety of machines, tools and equipment. Receives written work orders or verbal instruction from municipal administrator. Cuts grass & trims weeds on town property and parks, using lawnmowers and weed trimmer. Digs flower beds and plants flowers, using gardening tools. Constructs decorative flower garden borders from wood, using, using handtools. Cleans bldgs., washes windows, empty trash cans, using brooms, cleaning supplies, & floors buffer. Paints interior & exterior walls & trim, using paint & painting tools. Operates backhoe to dig trenches for water & sewer pipe. Drives truck & loads fallen tree limbs & roadside trash onto truck & delivers refuse to landfill. Repairs streets & sidewalks w/ asphalt, cold patching materials, & concrete, using shovel, hand roller, trowel, level, & long-handled tamp. Removes & replaces damaged parking meters & traffic signs. Operates snow removal equipment to maintain streets, sidewalks, & driveways. Read water meters & records reading in logbook. Maintain & repairs municipal buildings' plumbing & electrical systems, including replacing worn or defective parts, such as switches & fuses. Repairs or replaces wood parts of buildings, using carpenter tools. Replaces worn or damages parts, such as hoses, wiring, & belts, machines and equipment, such as truck, street sweeper, & riding mower. Hand washes vehicles.
