Job Duties: OPERATES SEVERAL TYPES OF POWER EQUIPMENT SUCH AS COMPRESSOR, ELECTRIC WELDING MACHINE, GARBAGE TRUCK, AND OTHER RELATED ELECTRIC/BATTERY POWER EQUIPMENTS. REPAIRS AND MAINTAINS DIFFERENT TYPES OF EQUIPMENTS. OTHER DUTIES RELATED TO A HEAVY EQUIPMENT OPERATOR. * Learn and follow safety regulations. * Take actions to avoid potential hazards and obstructions, such as utility lines, other equipment, other workers, and falling objects. * Adjust handwheels and depress pedals to control attachments, such as blades, buckets, scrapers, and swing booms. * Start engines, move throttles, switches, and levers, and depress pedals to operate machines such as bulldozers, trench excavators, road graders, and backhoes. * Locate underground services, such as pipes and wires, prior to beginning work. * Monitor operations to ensure that health and safety standards are met. * Align machines, cutterheads, or depth gauge makers with reference stakes and guidelines or ground or position equipment, following hand signals of other workers. * Load and move dirt, rocks, equipment, and materials, using trucks, crawler tractors, power cranes, shovels, graders, or related equipment. * Drive and maneuver equipment equipped with blades in successive passes over working areas to remove topsoil, vegetation, and rocks, and to distribute and level earth or terrain. * Coordinate machine actions with other activities, positioning or moving loads in response to hand or audio signals from crew members.

Qualification Requirements: ER Preference: HIGH SCHOOL LEVEL OR GRADUATED FROM VOCATIONAL COURSE SUCH AS AUTO MECHANIC, ELECTRICAL SUBJECT. MUST POSSESS A CNMI DRIVER LICENSE, AND PASS A DRUG TEST EXAM AS HEAVY EQUIPMENT OPERATOR. O-Net: Title Job Zone Three: Medium Preparation Needed Overall Experience Previous work-related skill, knowledge, or experience is required for these occupations. For example, an electrician must have completed three or four years of apprenticeship or several years of vocational training, and often must have passed a licensing exam, in order to perform the job. Job Training Employees in these occupations usually need one or two years of training involving both on-the-job experience and informal training with experienced workers. Job Zone Examples These occupations usually involve using communication and organizational skills to coordinate, supervise, manage, or train others to accomplish goals.
