| Job Duties: | Determine the method of shipment, using knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates. Assist in other related activities in the Cargo Area. Arrange for carrier pick up. Compare the quantity and identification numbers of merchandise against order. Assemble wooden and cardboard containers or select preassembled containers. Insert items into containers. Attach identifying information and shipping instructions on containers. Prepare records of merchandise shipped. Post weight and ship charges. Keep files of shipping records. Properly storing and documenting inbound cargo for customer pick- up. Trace missing or misplaced shipments. Verify receipt of shipments against bills of lading, invoices or other records. Record shortages and reject damaged merchandise. Route merchandise to departments.Be able to keep warehouse neat and organized.Affives shipping labels on packed cartoons or stencils. Responsible in clearing incoming and outgoing cargos for shipper at seaport. Accept delivery and pick up cargos for shipper and consignee orders from customers and loading flatform.Must have completed dangerous goods cetificate programs. |
