| Job Duties: | Will perform the ff.duties under the direction of the Chief Cook. Coordinate and participate in preparations and serving of meals to locals and hotel guests. Prepare,season,and cook soups,meats,vegetables,desserts,or foodstuffs in the hotel and restaurants. Turn or stir foods to ensure even cooking. Inspect food preparation and serving areas to ensure observance of safe, sanitary food-handling practices. Cook all types of dishes (international or local cuisines)according to recipes or personal judgment and experience. Observe and test foods to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently, using methods such as tasting,smelling,or piercing them with utensils. Weigh, measures and mix ingredients according to recipes or personal judgment, using various kitchen utensils and equipment. Portion,arrange,and garnish food,and serve to waiters or patrons. Substitute for or assist other cooks during emergencies or rush periods. Regulate temperature of ovens,broilers,grills and roasters. Bake,roast,and steam meats,fish,vegetables and other foods. May order supplies, keep records and accounts,price items on menus, or plan menus. |
