| Job Duties: | The Laboratory Technologist 11 functions as general lab technologist and also is given supervisory duties in the lab operations. The duties of the laboratory technologist -11 position include: Performing testing operations in all sections of the lab facility,Performing phlebotomy duties,Operating instruments in the different sections of the lab,Performing instrument maintenance duties:quality control testing and evaluation, calibrations,simple mechanical functions,other functions to maintain optimum instrument performance,Assisting the lab administration in reviewing quality assurance activities for quality pateint and as part of the regulatory requirement for the lab,Function as the lead technologist/supervisor to oversee routine operations of the lab,Assist in the recruiting and hiring processfor new lab staff,Assist in writing and implementing policies and procedures,Assist in managing lab staff:training new staff on the lab procedure,preparing and adjusting lab schedules,performing disciplinary activities for lab staff,Assist in performing performing performance evaluation of lab staff,Collect lab data and statistics to support administrative evaluation of lab operations. |

| Qualification Requirements: | Must be graduate of recognized laboratory technology program and have completed technical training in a hospital lab as part of the program. Must have a current lincense to perform laboratory technology duties. Must have at least 5 years of recent laboratory technology work experience in 3 or more of the following lab sections:blood bank,general chemistry, hematology,serology,urinalysis.Recent experience in microbiology is a plus. Must be willing to work holidays and weekend and rotate shifts,as needed. |
