Job Title: 43-1011.00 Accounts Payable-Coordinator
Job Duties: Basic Purpose: Responsible for the accuracy of accounting transactions relating to payroll, accounts payable, capital acquisitions, and inventory. Review of related activity and resolve discrepancies. Analysis and process activity pertaining to GTE Corporate transactions in compliance with established corporate guidelines, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Regulatory bodies. Coordinate accounting staff to provide accurate and timely analysis of accounting activity. Provide management with reports relating to company’s efficiency in areas of labor, materials and services. Principal Accountabilities: Effect the processing of payroll and related reports, filings and disbursements. Review the submitted time sheets for proper account distribution and accuracy. Maintain the information in the master file for salary adjustments, deductions, modes of payment, and other information. Design and improve method of timesheet reporting from manual to electronic transmission. Review payroll reports to determine accuracy of earnings, taxes, and deductions for employees. Submit reports to supervisor for review. Oversee payments to employees, taxing authorities, and other related liabilities. Prepare the required monthly, quarterly and annual tax filing for local and federal government authorities. Investigate and resolve discrepancies or inquiries with the taxing authorities. Prepare the general ledger entries to distribute payroll activity into the proper account codes and budget centers. Reconcile general ledger accounts associated with payroll. Oversee the disbursement of accounts payable liabilities by maintaining the information in the vendor master file, reviewing check requisitions for proper authorization, supporting documentation, and coding as required by MTC, GTE and regulating bodies. Review transaction journals related to accounts payable and generate any necessary corrections. Prepare checks for payment and submit to supervisor for review and approval. Assist in month end close, review financial information, and provide management with analytical reports in regards to labor, expenditures and cash flow. Review general ledger account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies. Administer and reconcile activity with GTE Corporate and GTE International Accounts. Communicate with GTE Companies regarding MTC and GTE Pacifica liabilities and intercompany activity. Track and verify costs, reconciling and resolving any discrepancies. Coordinates and trains operations accounting staff to efficiently complete areas of responsibilities and review results.

Qualification Requirements: Employer Preference Background/Experience: Bachelors Degree in Finance/Accounting required. Five of progressive experience in telephony accounting. Experience with payroll processing and accounts payable, including enforcement of company policies and adherence to company procedures. Specialized or Technical Knowledge: Thorough knowledge of GAAP, GMS and GTE F9nancelAccounting practices. Possess strong analytical ability. Effective oral and written communications skills. Technical knowledge of JO Edwards Accounting software. An intricate working knowledge of ABRA Suite Payrofl system. Understanding of banking operations and knowledge of ACH network for direct deposit payroll processing and RCA transmittals. Knowledge of CNMI, Guam and US Federal taxes including compliance and form preparation of, but not limited to, Form 500, Quarterly withholding taxes, payroll taxes, etc. Working experience with Microsoft Excel/Pivot Table, Microsoft Outlook and Word.
