| Job Duties: | Stands watch at bow or wing of bridge to look for obstructions in path of vessel. Measures water depth. Turns wheel on bridge or use emergency equipment as directed by mate. Breaks out, rigs, overhauls and stores cargo handling gear, stationary rigging and running gear. Handles lines to moor vessels to wharfs, to tie up vessels to other vessels or to rig towing lines. Operates, maintains and repairs ship equipment such as winches, cranes and derricks. Chips rust from and paint deck or ship's structure. Mans cargo ship between the CNMI and Guam. |
