| Job Title: | Master Auto Mechanic - Engine Specialist |
| Job Duties: | Diagnose and repair all aspects of passenger and commercial vehicles, as well as generators, compressors, farm equipment, and industrial equipment, as presented by clients. Especially important: modern Toyota and Mitsubishi passenger vehicle engines, two-stroke Japanese truck engines, and Japanese and American diesel truck engines. Use manual and computerized diagnosis methods to identify car problems. Be able and willing to research difficult cases online and in company’s collection of repair manuals. Perform subcomponent-level repairs of cyliners, crankshafts, transmissions, catalytic converters, and all supporting systems. Quickly diagnose and repair transient problems in components such as radiators and hoses. Also be capable of repairing electrical subsystems such as power windows and air conditioning compressors. Assist or lead in electronics (radio, alarm, phone, accessory) installations when required. Quickly identify most economical methods of repairing failures, and be adept at buying or ordering parts. Maintain good relationships with key clients, and promote shop to new clients when possible. |

| Qualification Requirements: | At least twenty years of experience performing subcomponent-level automotive repair with a focus on modern Japanese engines in passenger vehicles and commercial vehicles and equipment. Conversant with all models of modern Japanese engines, common failure points, and accepted diagnostic methods. Adept at using OBD-2 and other diagnostic tools. Excellent machining and welding skills. Need at least five years’ experience in customer service, estimating, record-keeping, and parts and materials procurement. Must be proficient in English, at a level sufficient to communicate with customers. Prefer additional basic Mandarin Chinese language skills to communicate with shop’s predominantly Chinese-speaking commercial truck clientele. |
