| Job Duties: | Review damage reports, prepare or review repair cost estimates, & plan work to be performed. Follow supervisor's instructions as to which parts to restore or replace & how much time the job should take. Sand body areas to be painted & cover bumpers, windows, & trim with masking tape or paper to protect them from the paint. Prime & paint repaired surfaces, using paint spray guns & motorized sanders. Remove upholstery, accessories, electrical window-and-seat operating equipment, & trim to gain access to vehicle bodies & fenders. Fill small dents that cannot be worked out with plastic or solder. File, grind, sand & smooth filled or repaired surfaces, using power tools & hand tools. Fit & weld replacement parts into place, using wrenches & welding equipment, & grind down welds to smooth them, using power grinders & other tools & perform other duties as may be given from time to time. |
