Job Duties: Job Vacancy Announcement Job Vacancy No. 12-008 Opening Date: Tuesday, March 13, 2012 Closing Date: Monday, March 26, 2012 Meter Technician DUTIES: Under the overall supervision of the division manager or his/her designee, the incumbents duties and responsibilities are as follows: Installs or assists install customer meters to ensure billing of services received. Performs or assists in meter testing; replaces damaged meters with new meters. Performs or assists in disconnections and reconnections of services; disconnects tampered accounts. Performs verifications to ensure meters are functioning properly. Delivers delinquency notices to customers with no addresses. Performs other duties of a similar nature or level. SUBJECT TO PRE-EMPLOYMENT DRUG SCREENING. LOCATION: Chief Financial Officer Division, SAIPAN. SALARY: $23,200.00 to $27,262.00 per annum, un-classified, un-graded. POSITIONS: Four (4) CONTRACT: Not contracted.

Qualification Requirements: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma, GED or ABE and three years of work experience, preferably with meter reading or metering experience. Knowledge of: Meters; Customer service techniques; Basic mathematics. Skills in: Reading maps; Operating vehicles; Installing and replacing meters; Disconnecting and reconnecting meters; Identifying illegal connections; Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.
