| Job Duties: | Take orders and serve food and beverages to patrons at tables in dining establishment. Check with customers to ensure that they are enjoying their meals and take action to correct any problems. Collect payments from customers. Write patrons' food orders on order slips, memorize orders, or enter orders into computers for transmittal to kitchen staff. Prepare checks that itemize and total meal costs and sales taxes. Check patrons' identification to ensure that they meet minimum age requirements for consumption of alcoholic beverages. Present menus to patrons and answer questions about menu items, making recommendations upon request. Clean tables or counters after patrons have finished dining. Prepare hot, cold, and mixed drinks for patrons, and chill bottles of wine. Would work as a Bartender upon orders of drinks such as cocktails from patrons. As a bartender, take orders from patrons and serving staffs, prepare cocktails and other alcohol and non-alcohol drinks, to be served to patrons. Attempt to limit problems and liability related to customers' excessive drinking by taking steps such as persuading customers to stop drinking, or ordering taxis or other transportation for intoxicated patrons. Clean glasses, utensils, and bar equipment, as well as the work areas and tables. Stock bar with beer, wine, liquor, and related supplies such as ice, glassware, napkins, or straws. |
