Job Title: Purchasing Specialist
Job Duties: •Prepare procedures regarding purchasing systems and policies, ensuring that policies are based on sound commercial judgment and in the best interest of the company. •Ensure that purchases are determined wherein the flexibility of the company is weighed against advantages and disadvantages of contract periods. •Disclosure of proprietary corporate business documents and proprietary information is prohibited. Proprietary information is information or material relating to LSG Lufthansa purchasing, accounting, personnel, and sales. Examples include, but are not limited to: pricing information, employee information, profits, and computer software, and programming. •Prepare and issue purchase orders and change notices. •Analyze market and delivery conditions to determine present and future material availability. •Analyze purchases to ensure effective storage control, while minimizing the capital involved in security and the purchase of items •Prepare market analysis reports. •Review purchase order claims and contracts for conformity to the company policies; as well as ensuring that contracts contain terms and conditions favorable to the company. •Negotiate, maintain, and evaluate company relationship with vendors, continue to source new vendors when necessary. •Ensure that purchasing policies and procedures are in accordance with the pertinent laws and regulations of the CNMI, and the LSG Hygiene guidelines. •Ensure that all vendor offers are treated confidentially. •In accordance with company hygiene regulations, make periodic visits to vendors to assure LSG’s quality standards are met, and provide guidance to vendors where necessary. •Assist employees in identifying and solving problems. •Ensure that any company personnel accept no gifts, gratuities or inducements from any vendor. •Performs other duties as may be required by the mission of the company. Qualification Requirements: •Must be proficient in the use of the English language (written and oral). •Must have good communications skills. •Must have good organizational skills. •Must be able to make independent, well thought out decisions. •Must be dependable and flexible. •Must be able to work under pressure. •Must have good mathematical skills. •Must have good customer/human relation skills. •Must have ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations. •Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. •Must have strong leadership abilities to be proficient in enforcing company policies and procedures.
