| Job Duties: | Give oral health instruction and disease preventive education; preliminary charting of the oral cavity; taking intra-oral and extra-oral photographs; prophylaxis or removal of stains, accretions or deposits; application of topical fluoride. a licensed dental therapist may perform the following under direct supervision of a dentist: pit and fissure sealants, fissurotomies on primary and permamnent teeth; application of desensitizing agents on primary or permanent teeth; palcement of temporary restorations on primary or permanent teeth; placement and removal of restorative bands; placement, shaping, polishing, and adjustment of restorative materials or fillings after tooth preparation is completed by a licensed dentist; fabrication of temporary crowns on permanent teeth; recementation of permamnent crowns, inlays or onlays; placement and removal of space maintainers on primary teeth, suture removal and dressing changes; impressions, delivery of occlusal and mouth guards; impressions, repair, try-in and adjustments of removable prosthetics. |
