| Job Duties: | Keeps the Retail Store in clean and orderly condition. Perform cleaning duties such as cleaning floors, shampooing rugs, washing walls and glass, and removing rubbish. Duties may include performing routine maintenance activities, notifying management of need for repairs, and cleaning debris from walkway outside the Store. • Monitor building security and safety by performing such tasks as locking doors after operating hours and checking electrical appliance use to ensure that hazards are not created. Service, clean, or supply restrooms. Gather and empty trash. Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming. Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures. Mix water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications. Strip, seal, finish, and polish floors. Notify managers concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems. Requisition supplies or equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties. Clean windows, glass partitions, or mirrors, using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, or squeegees. |

Knowledge of the chemical processes and transformations that substances undergo (includes uses of chemicals and their interactions, danger signs, production techniques, and disposal methods. Important qualities: • Detail oriented - Because cleaners are responsible for cleaning the business establishment, they must pay close attention to detail. For example, cleaners need to be thorough when polishing silver; Interpersonal skills - Cleaners must get along well with the people they provide services for. They must be polite and friendly.Physical stamina. Cleaners spend many hours on their feet, scrubbing, bending, and stretching. As a result, they should have good physical stamina. |
