| Job Title: | Diesel Mechanic |
| Job Duties: | Fix every single part of a diesel truck with knowledge and skill sets to complete all required tasks. Diagnose every single possible problem with a diesel truck. Teach and mentor apprentices, assistants, and co-workers on all tasks. Rebuild diesel and gas engines. Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, and other important parts to ensure that they are in proper operating condition. Adjust and reline brakes, align wheels, tighten bolts and screws, and reassemble equipment. Tear down, repair, and rebuild faulty assemblies such as power systems, steering systems, and linkages. Inspect and verify dimensions and clearances of parts to ensure conformance to factory specifications. Perform routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment and machinery. Test drive trucks and buses to diagnose malfunctions or to ensure that they are working properly. Raise trucks, buses, and heavy parts or equipment using hydraulic boom hoists attached to boom trucks. Follow check lists (and create them when necessary) to ensure all important parts are examined, including belts, hoses, steering systems, spark plugs, brake and fuel systems, wheel bearings, and other potentially troublesome areas. Attach test instruments to equipment, and read dials and gauges to diagnose malfunctions. Examine and adjust protective guards, loose bolts, and specified safety devices. Review work orders and discuss work with supervisors. Use precision instruments, as well as power tools such as pneumatic wrenches, lathes, welding equipment, jacks, hoists, and hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, pressure gauges. |

Must be willing to work in fast paced environment. Must have good problem solving skills. Knowledge of Japanese made trucks is a must. |
