| Job Duties: | Inspects trucks prior to beginning routes to ensure safe operating conditions . Refuels trucks and adds other necessary fluids, such as oil. Fills out any needed reports for defective equipment.Drives to disposal sites to empty trucks that have been filled. drives trucks along established routes through residential streets and alleys, or through business and industrial areas. Operates equipment that compresses the collected refuse.Operates automated or semi-automated hoisting devices that raise refuse bins and dump contents into openings in truck bodies. Dismounts garbage trucks to collect garbage and remounts trucks to ride to the next collection point.The Garbage Collector communicates with dispatchers concerning delays, unsafe sites, accidents, equipment breakdowns, and other maintenance problems.Keeps informed of road and weather conditions to determine how routes will be affected. |

| Qualification Requirements: | Must be comfortable working non-traditional hours such as early mornings. He must also be able to lift heavy objects. Working outdoors in all types of weather conditions will also be required of the successful candidate. Must drive incredibly large vehicles. Must be extremely self-motivated, able to function effectively with little or no supervision, following specific instructions so he may successfully complete his duties within a specific amount of time. |
