| Job Duties: | The Butcher is responsible for the preparation of meats for cooking by cutting, trimming and cleaning and removing bones. Prepares meats, fowls, and fishes for frying, boiling, broiling and roasting by cutting, trimming and removing bones with the aid of knives, cleaver and saws; chops and grinds meats with the aid of hand-powered or electrically-powered machine grinder. Inventories, receives, stores and issues food from the refrigeration room. Maintains and cleans work areas; sharpens and cleans butcher’s tools and equipment. Applies safe and sanitary work practices on the job. Performs inventory duties when needed. Performs other duties as may be required by the mission of the production department. |
