| Job Duties: | SUMMARY: Under the direct supervision of the Ship and Shop Supervisors is responsible to carry out repair and preventive maintenance schedules for vehicles and mechanical equipment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. • Plans, carries out and evaluates preventive maintenance schedules for all vehicles and mechanical equipment. • Test, services and repairs vehicles and mechanical equipment. • Inspects, adjust and replaces necessary units and related parts in the performance of repair and maintenance work. • Cuts and welds metal, performs body repair, touch up and related work. • Changes and repairs tires and tubes. Evaluates the status of mechanical equipment and vehicles and performs or schedules needed repairs. • Analyzes and inspects vehicles and mechanical systems to determine the most cost effective means of maintenance, repair or replacement. • Follows approved shop procedures. Purchases equipment, parts and supplies used for vehicle and mechanical system maintenance upon approval of supervisor. • Completes all necessary documentation in a neat and timely manner. • Comply with all applicable laws and regulations as well as company policies and procedures. • Perform other duties as required. • Follow defined Safety, Health and Environmental policies and procedures. |

| Qualification Requirements: | POSITION MINIMUM QUALIFICATION • 5-years experience in maintenance and repair. • Preferred areas of experience may be with heavy equipment, trucks, tractors, mechanical equipment or any diesel or gasoline powered equipment or vehicle. • Proficient with a variety of hand tools, diagnostic tools, power tools, multi-meters. • High School diploma, GED, Vocational or trade school. |
