| Job Duties: | Supervises and corrdinates activities of workers engaged in construction, installation, and repair of wooden structure and fixtures: Examines blueprints to determine dimesions of structure. Lays out floor plans and cabinet work, using rule, framing square and calipers. Selects materials and structural units, such as lumber, prefabricated doors and cabinets of wood or plastic, and paneling, and inspects them to ensure conformance with provisions of building code and local ordinance. Determines sequence of activities concerned with fabrication, assembyly, and erection of structure. Assigns workers to such tasks as cutting materials to size, building concrete forms, erecting wooden framework, and laying flooring. Inspects work performed by subcontractors, including ductwork, wireing and pipe installations to ensure conformance with specifications. Installs doors, build stairs, and lays hardwood floors. |
