Job Title: Medical and Health Services Manager
Job Duties: 1. Conduct and review fiscal operations, including accounting, planning budgets, authorizing expenditures, establishing rates for services, and coordinating financial reporting. 2. Assist in the evaluation of work activities of medical, nursing, technical, clerical, service, maintenance, and other personnel. 3. Maintain communication between governing boards, medical staff, and department heads and coordinating interdepartmental function by submission of reports. 4. Review and analyze facility activities and data to aid planning and cash and risk management and to improve service utilization. 5. Establish work schedules and assignments for finance staff, according to workload, space and equipment availability. 6. Maintain awareness of advances in medicine, computerized diagnostic and treatment equipment, data processing technology, government regulations, health insurance changes and financing options. 7. Develop and maintain computerized record management systems to store and process data such as personnel activities and information, and to produce reports. 8. Ensures timely, accurate submission of claims. 9. Prepares insurance assignment form with data such as names of insurance company, and policy holder, policy number, and physician diagnosis. 10. Contacts insurance company to verify patient coverage and obtain information concerning extent of benefits. 11. Verify claims with pertinent documents and submit to insurance companies per standard billing procedure. 12. Computes total patient bill showing amounts to be paid by insurance company and by patient; answer any patients’ questions regarding billing statements and insurance coverage and follow up on unpaid insurance and/or patient claim. 13. Keep files of all billed claims, and documents in designated filing system; maintain a follow-up system in a timely manner; 14. Audit claims prior to submission for completeness on the following: 15. Maintain/update fee schedule/criteria/correspondence. 16. Prepare Spreadsheet for Medical Billing. 17. Maintain general inventory and bookkeeping. 18. Strong knowledge of MEDICAL terminology and office procedures. 19. Maintain client, employee, and agency confidentiality in all aspects of the job. 20. Protects confidential documents in a manner that prevents unauthorized access. 21. Shares information appropriately and timely in accordance with agency policy. 22. Proficient in MS Operations. 23. Must be flexible with work hours beyond normal working hours. 24. Performs job in compliance with agency policies and procedures and professional and community standards. 25. Performs additional related duties and responsibilities as requested by the Administrator.

Qualification Requirements: 1. Bachelor degree in any Health Field 2. Minimum of two (2) years’ experience, preferably in health care. 3. Experience in medical and billing regulations for Medicare, Medicaid and insurance processing. 4. Knowledge of medical terminology and coding. 5. Computer skills in areas of electronic claim submission and data entry/report generation. 6. Minimum knowledge of bookkeeping principles and practices (preferably in the health care field) which entails accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger. 7. Attention to detail, organizational skills. 8. Strong leadership, and interpersonal skills. 9. Strong verbal and written communication skills in English language
