Job Title: Risk and Safety Manager
Job Duties: Coordinate and administer the development and implementation of the property’s Risk/Safety program, and compliance with OSHA standards. Maintain and update OSHA files and written policies. Maintain safe working and environmental conditions for team members and a safe and secure premise for our guests. Manage and oversee Safety Committee. Oversee handling of workers’ compensation, general liability, guests and team member claims. Track claims by coding for type of incident, location, paid-to-date, outstanding reserves and recoveries. Maintains tracks and verify compliance of certificates of Insurance of all contractors, subcontractors and outside vendors. Review insurance requirements in contracts. Coordinate suits and claims with attorneys and TPA’s. Prepare monthly claim financial reports to property management. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and reports. Document and ensure communication of key risks. Recommend ways to identify or control or reduce risk. Develop contingency plans to deal with organizational emergencies Maintain data in information systems or databases. Maintain regulatory or compliance documentation.

Qualification Requirements: Graduation from a four-year college or university with major course work in Business or Public Administration, Finance, or a closely related field or equivalent work experience. Must have prior experience in Risk Management/Safety Programs. At least five years of increasingly responsible experience in managing and administering a comprehensive risk management program, including but not limited to, loss control, workers’ compensation and commercial insurance, at least three of which were in a supervisory capacity. Certification: Certification as a Certified Safety Professional is preferred but not required. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Good interpersonal and Communication skills. Requires the ability to read, write, and speak the English language Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner; develops alternative solutions and uses reason even when dealing with emotional topics Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism; treats others with respect and consideration regardless of their status or position Knowledge of and ability to appropriately interpret and follow policies and procedures Knowledge of and ability to adhere to safety and security procedures; reports potentially unsafe conditions; uses equipment and materials properly Ability to present and express ideas and information clearly and concisely in a manner appropriate to audience, whether oral or written Ability to meet the demands of the work schedule, to be at work and on time. May occasionally require the ability to work outside of regularly scheduled hours. Schedules may vary based on business need Must be able to work independently or with a team to achieve organizational goals. Knowledge of Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) Knowledge of basic math. Ability to multi-task as necessary. Need tact when dealing with difficult team members, guests or situations. Must be able to work under stressful conditions. Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents, such as policy procedure manuals, and other related documents.
