| Job Duties: | • Implements quality control along with consistency for every edible item served; • Develops and adapts work schedules to fit current business level; • Implements regular departmental line-ups as a routine; • Controls, maintains and manages kitchen inventory and food supplies; • Involved in ordering and receiving required kitchen supplies; • Ensures all ingredients for preparing food are in right supply on time; • Helps management control food cost; • Conveys clearly any need for maintenance of kitchen equipment and other security problems; • Prepares on time and to highest standard at least three meals from the current approved menu every day; • Utilizes service of or supervises kitchen cooks as required for food preparation; • Develops and maintains professional relations with vendors; • Gathers data, compiles, reviews and submits essential daily, weekly, and monthly reports; • Inspects and ensures continuous functioning of all kitchen equipment to standard through maintenance as per the given manufacturers instructions; • Supervises other cooks and helpers directly including scheduling and ensuring adequate coverage of cooks for meal preparation; • Supervises and coordinates activities of food preparation, kitchen, pantry, and store room personnel and purchases or requisitions foodstuffs and kitchen supplies; plans or participates in planning menus, preparing and apportioning foods, and utilizing food surpluses and leftovers; • Specifies number of servings to be made from any vegetable, meat, beverage, and dessert to control portion cost; • Supervises food preparation and tastes, smells, and observes food to ensure conformance with recipes and appearance standards; • Trains new kitchen workers; • Assists in setting prices to be charged for food items; • Meets with professional staff, customers, or client groups to resolve menu inconsistencies or to plan menus for special occasions; • May assist dietitian to plan, change, test, and standardize recipes to increase number of servings prepared. |

| Qualification Requirements: | • 18 years of age or older; • Prior supervisory experience; experience in a high volume restaurant preferred; • Excellent guest service and hospitality skills; • Strong problem solving and listening skills; • Self-motivated with excellent organizational skills and attention to detail; • Bilingual (Mandarin-English) abilities preferred; • Ability to lift and carry up to (30) pounds at a time; • Ability to perform various activities such as constant standing, walking, frequent bending, reaching, kneeling, and squatting; • Ability to multi-task several activities and duties simultaneously; • Ability to function and act independently; • Ability to work well with people, in a team environment, and to communicate effectively both written & oral; • Ability to function in a fast paced environment, under short time constraints, and within established deadlines; • Ability to work a flexible schedule including extended hours, weekends, and holidays; • Obtain/maintain alcohol awareness certification and food handler’s permit. |
