Job Title: Cashier
Job Duties: • Receives payments by cash, check, credit cards, vouchers, or automatic debits; • Issues receipts, refunds, credits, or change due to customers; • Counts money in cash drawers at the beginning of shifts to ensure that amounts are correct and that there is adequate change; • Greets customers entering restaurant; • Maintains clean and orderly checkout areas; • Resolves customer complaints; • Answers customers' questions, and provides information on procedures or policies; • Cashes checks for customers; • Calculates total payments received during a time period, and reconciles this with total sales; • Computes and records totals of transactions; • Keeps periodic balance sheets of amounts and numbers of transactions; • Sorts, counts, and wraps currency and coins; • Processes merchandise returns and exchanges; • Monitors checkout stations to ensure that they have adequate cash available and that they are staffed appropriately.

Qualification Requirements: • 18 years of age or older; • Basic accounting skills; • Prior cashier experience in a high volume restaurant preferred; • Excellent guest service and hospitality skills; • Strong problem solving and listening skills; • Self-motivated with excellent organizational skills and attention to detail; • Bilingual (Mandarin-English) abilities essential; • Ability to lift and carry up to (30) pounds at a time; • Ability to perform various activities such as constant standing, walking, frequent bending, reaching, kneeling, and squatting; • Ability to multi-task several activities and duties simultaneously; • Ability to function and act independently; • Ability to work well with people, in a team environment, and to communicate effectively both written & oral; • Ability to function in a fast paced environment, under short time constraints, and within established deadlines; • Ability to work a flexible schedule including extended hours, weekends, and holidays; • Obtain/maintain alcohol awareness certification and food handler’s permit.
