| Job Duties: | •Assists in the activities of the kitchen staff engaged in proper cleaning, cutting, marinating, seasoning and cooking of food items. •Maintain programs to ensure high levels of sanitation, hygiene and safety are carried out in all food production areas. •Measure and mix ingredients to standard recipes/specifications using a variety of utensils and equipment. •Is familiar with all kitchen equipment, utensils and machinery. Maintains equipment in clean and good working order. •Assist in inventory duties when needed. •Set up daily work place according to job orders. •Ensure quality and consistency according to specifications and recipes. •Taste and evaluate food. •Utilize left over food and ensure proper rotation, labeling and dating. •Prepare food for staff canteen. •Assist dish out area, ensure quality and quantity are according to company and airline specification. •Ensure proper chilling time according to flight schedules. •Responsibilities may also include preparation of recipes and menus. •Performs other duties as required by the mission of the company... |

| Qualification Requirements: | •Must be proficient in the use of English language (written and oral). •Must have good communication skills. •Must have good organizational skills. •Must be able to make independent, well thought out decisions. •Must be dependable and flexible. •Must be able to work under pressure. •Must have good customer / human relations skills. •Ensure hygiene standards lay down by the Company, Airlines and the legislation’s are strictly followed. •Must have good mathematical skills. •Basic working knowledge of all relevant machinery used in food production. •Must have knowledge of proper food preparation, sanitation and hygiene regulations, and methods of preparing recipes. •Keep work area and chillers clean according to health standards. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Graduation from High School or General Equivalency Diploma (GED); and three (3) years cooking experience in a catering industry involved in the preparation of food in a kitchen; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provided the preferable knowledge, abilities and skills. |
