| Job Duties: | The classroom teacher at Whispering Palms School is expected to possess detailed knowledge and understanding of the subject matter to be taught, and be able to communicate effectively with his or her students. The classroom teacher must organize materials, prepare for classes, maintain harmony in the classroom and school grounds and employ effective teaching techniques to ensure that the assigned teaching goals are met. Other duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: A. Following the curriculum in all subject areas as provided by the employer. B. Developing and following lesson plans necessary to effectively implement the curriculum requirements and expectations. C. Ensuring the safety and welfare of students at all times, in the classroom, on the school grounds, or on trips away from the school premises. D. Preparing periodic progress reports for parents, and participating in conferences with parents where necessary or appropriate. E. Sharing responsibilities with other staff members and participating in extra-curricular activities engaged in by Whispering Palms School. F. Performing other related duties where appropriate or assigned. |
