| Job Duties: | Performs professional and administrative work developing and implementing safety and accident prevention procedures and training for safety programs to reduce or eliminate occupational accidents, injuries and or financial losses. 2. Assists Superintendents and Management to understand regulations and standards, including guidance on handling OSHA and MSHA compliance, inspections and citations. 3. Investigates all accidents that occur in conjunction with Superintendents. Notifies top Management of pertinent details. 4. Reports all accidents, property damage and/or personal injuries to the insurance company/worker's compensation to insure proper coverage. Handles all worker's compensation and insurance claims relating to vehicle and or industrial accidents. 5. Conducts periodic and/or monthly safety inspections for hazardous conditions and practices and develops hazards control practices and programs. 6. Assists Superintendents/Foremen at all plant locations with critical safety and health problems. 7. Conducts safety orientations for all newly hired employees and discusses the importance of the company safety and health program and employee rights and responsibilities. 8. Reports accidents analysis at safety meetings and discuss safety concerns in areas needed. 9. Keeps apprised of developments in federal and or state safety and health laws which will affect the company. 10. Acts as a company representative in dealing with government agencies on safety and health matters i.e. inspection, consultation, abatements and legal matters. |

| Qualification Requirements: | 1. (3) years experience in loss prevention, safety program development or occupational safety and health. 2. Certified 500 OSHA Outreach Construction Industry Trainer; Certified First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Instructor. 3. Training in safety & health regulations through the OSHA Training Institute, MSHA and or various safety & health seminars offered by professional organizations. 4. Knowledge of computer, word processors and other office equipment. Ability to meet and deal effectively with local and federal regulatory agencies. 6. Flexibility required in days and hours available for work, including weekends. 7.Ability to work as a member of a team. 8. Good communication skills, both oral and written. 9. Ability to work independently and to supervise others. |
