Job Title: Director of Aircraft Maintenance
Job Duties: The Director of Maintenance is directly responsible to the President of Star Marianas Air, Inc. for all maintenance of company aircraft. •Responsible for training mechanics, aircraft records, and maintenance procedures. •Assures that adequately qualified maintenance technicians and inspectors are assigned to maintenance functions. •Responsible for making available to all departments the required technical manuals, service bulletins, airworthiness directives, and any other required technical data. •Responsible for the daily control and coordination of aircraft maintenance actions during the course of normal operations. •Responsible for communications between maintenance, dispatch, and management personnel responsible for ongoing operations. •Ensures that all maintenance actions are recorded per the company’s General Maintenance Manual. •Ensures maintenance records are reviewed for completeness and the integrity of all required information. •Assures the cleanliness of the facilities and accountable for all expendable items. •Maintains close liaison with the President, Director of Operations and other appropriate personnel to provide current status of aircraft and forecast down times. •Responsible for the implementation and currency of the company Continuous Airworthiness Maintenance Program (CAMP) •Have overall responsibility to ensure that mechanical delays that may occur are handled in a safe and expeditious manner. •Accomplish other tasks assigned by the President. • He may delegate authority to others but retains the technical responsibility. Must discharge his duties to meet applicable legal requirements and to maintain safe. Examine and inspect aircraft components, including landing gear, hydraulic systems, and deicers to locate cracks, breaks, leaks, or other problems. See more occupations related to this task. Inspect completed work to certify that maintenance meets standards and that aircraft are ready for operation. See more occupations related to this task. Read and interpret maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and other specifications to determine the feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components. Qualification Requirements: •Must be highly knowledgeable of aviation safety standards and safe operating practices, the entire contents of the company Operations Manual, Operations Specifications, Federal Aviation Regulations and all appropriate maintenance and airworthiness requirements pertaining to company operations. •Possess a current U.S. Federal Aviation Adminstration Airman Certificate with Airframe and Powerplant ratings and have all qualifications specified in 14 CFR §119.71 (e). •Minimum of 5 years of experience maintaining Lycoming reciprocating aircraft engines, 5 years of experience maintaining aircraft manufactured by Piper. Previous experience working on turbine engines manufactured by Pratt and Whitney preferred. •Must have 10 years’ experience working with airlines operating under United States Code of Federal Regulations Title 14 Parts 135 and/or 121. •Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautics or Aerodynamics highly preferred. •Computer literate, preferably Windows based applications. •Highly motivated and hardworking, must be able work in a multi-cultural environment. . Related Experience Previous work-related skill, knowledge, or experience is required for these occupations. For example, an electrician must have completed three or four years of apprenticeship or several years of vocational training, and often must have passed a licensing exam, in order to perform the job.
