Job Title: Lead Aircraft Quality Control Inspector
Job Duties: Responsible for the efficient and economical determination of airworthiness of aircraft maintenance and other work assigned. •Perform assigned inspection functions in accordance with the company General Maintenance Manual (GMM) to ensure that company aircraft are inspected to the prescribed standard of airworthiness and serviceability.•Perform inspection functions on aircraft and powerplants. These functions do not necessarily include the inspection of those materials, parts and subassemblies normally required to be performed by a mechanic to accomplish his own work.•Review the Aircraft Flight Logs and Deferred Discrepancy Logs for all Pilot Reports and Deferred Maintenance Items that are to be corrected by maintenance personnel.•Perform required inspection functions during all checks such as airframe and engine inspections called out on work cards or inspection forms. Perform required inspections and buyback inspections on major items or unscheduled work items.•Certify the aircraft airworthiness after a check by signing aircraft airworthiness release in the aircraft permanent records.•In addition to routine inspection duties an inspector may, from time to time, be required to perform incoming inspections on materials and/or equipment for use by Star Marianas Air. In addition the inspector may, from time to time, be required to inspect outgoing parts shipment for proper packaging including Hazardous Materials.•Perform Inspect work of aircraft mechanics performing maintenance, modification, or repair and overhaul of aircraft and aircraft mechanical systems to ensure adherence to standards and procedures. Examine landing gear, tires, and exteriors of fuselage, wings, and engines for evidence of damage or corrosion and the need for repairs. See more occupations related to this task. Examine maintenance records and flight logs to determine if service and maintenance checks and overhauls were performed at prescribed intervals. See more occupations related to this task. Inspect new, repaired, or modified aircraft to identify damage or defects and to assess airworthiness and conformance to standards, using checklists, hand tools, and test instruments. inspections, as required, on all scheduled aircraft, heavy maintenance checks, and aircraft modifications to ensure that compliance with procedures as specified in the Aircraft Maintenance Manual is being compiled with, approved equipment and materials are being utilized, high standards of workmanship are being attained, discrepancies detected are recorded on appropriate work sheets. •Review all aircraft inspection record forms which are utilized in aircraft checks to ensure proper completion of all entries.

Qualification Requirements: •Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautics or Aerodynamics highly preferred.•Hold a mechanic certificate issued by the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration with both airframe and powerplant ratings and have held these ratings for at least 3 years.•Have at least 3 years of maintenance experience on different types of airplanes with 10 or less passenger seats with a U.S. air carrier or certificated repair station. 1 year of which must have been as maintenance inspector, and•Have at least 1 year of experience in a supervisory capacity maintaining the same category and class of aircraft that the company uses. •Computer literate, preferably Windows based applications.•Ability to plan and prioritize work efficiently;•Highly motivated and hardworking, must be able work in a multi-cultural environment. Medium Preparation Needed Education Most occupations in this zone require training in vocational schools, related on-the-job experience, or an associate's degree. Related Experience Previous work-related skill, knowledge, or experience is required for these occupations. For example, an electrician must have completed three or four years of apprenticeship or several years of vocational training, and often must have passed a licensing exam, in order to perform the job. Job Training Employees in these occupations usually need one or two years of training involving both on-the-job experience and informal training with experienced workers.
