Job Title: Assistant Director of Maintenance
Job Duties: Assists the Director of Maintenance in organizing and directing activities and projects of aircraft, facilities, and ground support equipment personnel. • Manages the aircraft maintenance workload, resources, and activities for an assigned work group or several work groups at terminal and/or hangar operations at line or base maintenance stations in such a manner as to assure continuing safety, compliance, and dependability. • Directs, administers, and coordinates the activities of their assigned work group(s) in support of policies, goals, and objectives established by the Director of Maintenance. • Provide technical expertise, information and assistance regarding assigned functions; supervise skilled workers in the performance of major repairs and projects.Examine and inspect aircraft components, including landing gear, hydraulic systems, and deicers to locate cracks, breaks, leaks, or other problems. Read and interpret maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and other specifications to determine the feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components. Qualification Requirements: •Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautics or Aerodynamics highly preferred. •Possess a valid U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airman Certificate with Airframe & Powerplant ratings.•Possess the qualifications specified in FAR 119.71 (e): i.3 years of experience within the past 6 years maintaining aircraft as a certificated mechanic, including experience in maintaining the same category and class of aircraft as the certificate holder uses*; or ii. Have 3 years of experience within the past 6 years repairing aircraft in a certificated airframe repair station, including 1 year in the capacity of approving aircraft for return to service (*Note: The certificate holder uses Piper Navajo Chieftains and Piper Cherokee Sixes) •Experience with reciprocating engines and general aviation aircraft and knowledge of Continuous Airworthiness Maintenance Program (CAMP) highly preferred. •Knowledge of all aspects of aircraft maintenance; • Computer literate, preferably Windows based applications. •Ability to plan and prioritize work efficiently; •Highly motivated and hardworking, must be able work in a multi-cultural environment. Related Experience Previous work-related skill, knowledge, or experience is required for these occupations.
