Job Title: Accounting Assistant
Job Duties: This position performs a variety of accounting tasks to assist members of the Accounting Team. Update, verify and maintain accounting journals and ledgers and other financial records. Develops, implements, modifies, and documents record keeping and accounting systems, making use of current computer technology. Computes taxes owed and prepare tax returns, ensuring compliance with payment, reporting or other tax requirements. Assists on general accounts payable functions such as: o Records and ensures accuracy of invoices due to various vendors o Verifies and reconciles vendor accounts o Prepares Check /ACH / Wire Transfer / MasterCard requests (payment requests) o Process payments to various vendors o Mails checks to vendors o Analyze discrepancies and unpaid invoices o Maintain vendor files Work as night audit reliever once needed o Posting of all revenues to the hotel front-office system of the generated sales from all the hotel revenue outlets. o Reconciliation of revenues generated for the day by all hotel outlets in comparison with all of its settlements (cash, room charge, credit cards and others) generated from all systems. o Coordinate with the income auditor on all postings made during the night and highlight all discrepancies noted. o Closing of the front office system Assists in month end reporting procedures Assist in the preparation of accounting records, financial statements, or other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards. Performs filing and general administrative tasks. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualification Requirements: Minimum of two (2) years of work experience, preferably in hospitality and knowledge of generally accepted accounting and bookkeeping principles and procedures. Degree in accounting is required. Strong knowledge in using front office systems and point-of-sale systems such as Opera Property Management System and Micros POS. Must be able to work evenings, C-shift (for night audit reliever 11PM-7AM), weekends and holidays.
