Job Title: Customer Service Specialist
Job Duties: Summary of duties: Provide customers with assistance in air transportation and other products and services offered by the company while ensuring compliance with company procedures, Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), U.S. Department of Transportation, and other applicable regulations. Specific tasks: • Ensure customer satisfaction by working in close coordination with the company’s Flight Operations and Aircraft Maintenance Departments to facilitate timely transportation of customers. • Confer with customers by telephone or in person to provide information about products and services, to enter or cancel bookings, or to obtain details of complaints. Refer unresolved customer grievances to designated departments for further investigation. • Contact customers to respond to inquiries or to notify them of any planned adjustments. • Confer with the Accounting Department to determine charges for services requested, accurately process sales, collect payments or arrange for billing whichever is applicable. • Receive payment by cash, check, credit cards, vouchers, or automatic debits and issue receipts, refunds, credits, or change due to customers. • Accomplish safe and secure handling of Company documents, air waybills, cash and other documents required by the company. • Perform company specific procedures relevant to acceptance and handling of cargo. • Perform company specific procedures relevant to management of the appropriate aircraft’s weight and balance system, embarkation and disembarkation of customers, using standard operating signals for transportation operators to stop or to proceed, aircraft re-fueling and fuel sumping procedures whenever necessary, radio communications, retention of records and dissemination of information to crew members as may be required • May be assigned to perform aircraft dispatching procedures, flight locating or flight following procedures in accordance with established company guidelines. • Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor. Qualification Requirements: • High school diploma required. College education/degree preferred. • Must have at least 2 years previous work experience in customer service. • High preference for candidates with experience providing customer service in a commuter airline operating under Part 135 of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). • Must be willing and able to work a combination of shifts within a 24 hour period (including holidays) as may be required by the company. • Computer literate. • Self-starter, highly motivated, dependable, hardworking. Some previous work-related skill, knowledge, or experience is usually needed. For example, a teller would benefit from experience working directly with the public. Job Training Employees in these occupations need anywhere from a few months to one year of working with experienced employees.
