Job Title: Pilot
Job Duties: Pilot and navigate the flight of fixed-wing, single-engine and multi-engine aircraft operated by Star Marianas Air, Inc. on company’s routes for transport of passengers and cargo. Specific duties • Start engines, operate controls, and pilot airplanes to transport passengers, freight, adhering to flight plans, regulations, and procedures. • Ascertains meteorological conditions prior to flight to ensure safety of passengers and/or cargo. • Contact control towers for takeoff clearances, arrival instructions, and other information, using radio equipment. • Monitor gauges, warning devices, and control panels to verify aircraft performance and to regulate engine speed. • Respond to and report in-flight emergencies and malfunctions. • Steer aircraft along planned routes, using autopilot and flight management computers. • Check passenger and cargo distributions and fuel amounts to ensure that weight and balance specifications are met. • Monitor engine operation, fuel consumption, and functioning of aircraft systems during flights. • Inspect aircraft for defects and malfunctions, according to pre-flight checklists.Work as part of a flight team with other crew members, especially during takeoffs and landings. Qualification Requirements: Considerable Preparation Needed• require a four-year bachelor's degree, but some do not. A considerable amount of work-related skill, knowledge, or experience is needed for these occupations. For example, an accountant must complete four years of college and work for several years in accounting to be considered qualified. Employees in these occupations usually need several years of work-related experience, on-the-job training, and/or vocational training. Many of these occupations involve coordinating, supervising, managing, or training others.Must meet the requirements of 14 CFR Part 135.243(b) as follows:  U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Commercial Pilot License  Minimum total time of 500 hours  Total cross country time of 100 hours, 25 of which are at night • Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate, or Flight Instructor rating highly preferred. • College degree highly preferred • Must hold a valid US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) medical certificate • Must be willing and able to work a combination of shifts within a 24 hour period (including holidays) as may be required by the company • Must pass a DOT/FAA pre-employment drug test. • Able to adapt and willing to work in a multi-cultural environment.
