Job Title: Assistant Director of Banquet & Event
Job Duties: • Ensures the department runs according to established operating procedures. • Manages the cost-effective and efficient operation of the department within budget. • Inspects and monitors the banquets preparation and setup. • Develops and implements an innovative business strategy to maximize revenue and productivity. • Monitors consumption and maximizes capacity of resources and equipment. • Coordinates with the kitchen to design menus and promotions. • Controls the purchasing, receiving and inventory. • Solicits new and existing accounts to meet & exceed revenue goals through telephone solicitations, outside sales calls, site inspections and written communications. • Participates in the catering sales presentations, property tours and customer meetings. • Participates in daily business review, sales and management meetings. • Tours, inspects and monitors banquet rooms and presentations. • Provides feedbacks to guests’ recommendations and shares their ideas with staff and management and includes them in planning and operations. • Provides supervision, direction and leadership to the management team to achieve department goals. • Coaches, motivates, counsels and evaluates management staff and encourages their participation in decision-making. • Meets with function group leaders to determine last minute changes and discusses various set-up arrangements. • Interacts with internal staff and external guests from Asian and international countries. • Trains, supervises and works with all banquets & events staff, in order to solicit and book banquet and catering functions, as well as the planning, merchandising and execution of the functions. • Conducts daily briefings and disseminates company information to the operation management team. • Monitors team members’ manners and grooming according to company standards. • Identifies and anticipates customers’ needs and expectations and provides suitable banquet choices to customers. • Requests feedbacks and gathers information about service performance. • Establishes and monitors customer service goals. • Addresses guests’ requests and handles complaints promptly and to their satisfaction. • Provides personalized service to media and VIP guests. • Performs other duties as assigned.
