Job Title: Accountant
Job Duties: • Prepare, examine, or analyze accounting records, financial statements, or other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards. • Compute CNMI and federal taxes owed and prepare monthly, quarterly and annual tax returns, ensuring compliance with filing, payment and reporting requirements. Prepare year-end employee wage and tax statements and annual reconciliation of taxes withheld. • Conduct internal audits to verify compliance to procedures and controls. • Report to management regarding the finances of establishment. • Develop, implement, modify and document record keeping and accounting systems, making use of MYOB accounting software and Microsoft office programs. • Develop, maintain, and analyze budgets, preparing periodic reports that compare budgeted costs to actual costs. Determine cause of variances and implement controls. • Analyze business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations, to project future revenues and expenses and to provide advice to management. • Advise management about issues such as resource utilization, tax strategies and the assumptions underlying budget forecasts. • Conduct periodic inventory of properties and merchandise. Determine cause of variances, do reconciliation and implement internal control. • Perform other duties such as preparation of check and cash disbursements, payroll, collection of accounts, reconciliation of customers and vendors account ledgers and bank reconciliation. • Update merchandise costs spreadsheet on a timely manner and adjust selling prices to achieve monthly budgeted gross sales. • Survey operations to ascertain accounting needs and to recommend, develop or maintain solutions to business and financial problems.

Qualification Requirements: • College degree with Accountancy major (maybe foreign equivalent) • Minimum 2-3 years progressive work experience as an Accountant. • Extensive experience with MYOB accounting software and Microsoft office programs.
