| Job Duties: | • Receive the Daily Market List and Purchase Requests submitted by various departments. • Obtain competitive bids by actively and aggressively testing the market to obtain the merchandise as specified at the lowest price available while meeting the date of delivery, quality and quantity requirements. Bids from at least 3 suppliers are required. • Contact suppliers by phone or personal visit; confer with present or prospective suppliers concerning new products, discounts, promotions, reciprocal business deal etc. • Keep track of price movements and inform department concerned of any changes in prices by updating the Purchasing System regularly. • Ensure prompt delivery of all supplies and to follow up outstanding orders and undelivered portion. • Travel to other cities to procure needed supplies whenever required. • Initiate “Cash on Delivery” basis through the purchasing fund as per Group’s policies and procedures. • Coordinate with Storekeepers and department concerned on needs to reorder based on adequacy of current stocks, purchasing leadtime and other prevailing conditions. • Maintain as much as possible files of quotations, catalogues, photos, samples on all equipment and supplies. • Coordinate with Director of Purchasing on credit arrangements with suppliers. • Implement controls over purchasing to ensure that locally available foodstuffs are for immediate needs, that quantity of the food is optimum for the intended use and that the lowest prices on the market are paid for merchandise of the desired quality and form to guard against excessive quantities of supplies being purchased. • Attend personally and supervise the proper handling of purchasing problems such as nondelivery, late delivery, inferior quality, poor services, price changes etc. • Assist in requests for sponsorships from regular suppliers for Company’s events whenever required. • Familiarize with the import procedures, documentation and custom requirements for all overseas purchases. • Attend related meetings when required. • Others o Respond to the changes in department functions as dictated by the industry, the company or the Company. o Provide courteous and professional service and to maintain good working relationship with all employee. o Have a complete understanding of the employee handbook and to adhere to the regulations contained therein. o Have a complete understanding of the Company policies relating to fire, safety and hygiene.
