| Job Duties: | Illustrative examples of work include: 1.Medical Underwriting and Risk Management Assessment: • Conduct health information review at on-site medical facilities including Commonwealth Health Center, Pacific Medical Center, Saipan Health Clinic, Island Medical Center, Marianas Medical Center, Medical Associate of the Pacific and other CNMI medical provider facilities. • Performs risk assessment for all new CNMI individual and small group applications and for Guam individual, association, and small group applications (as needed) based upon health information review. • Renders decisions for approval, approval with exclusions, or denial for said applications; • Assists in training new underwriting staff in Guam or the CNMI on the StayWell risk assessment and scoring system; 2.Informed Choice and Utilization Management (UM): • Perform intake assessment on referral member’s disease condition and symptoms. Ensure HIPAA guidelines are followed; • Enters and issues pre-certifications for on and off island referrals; • Review medical records in support of pre-certifications. • Disseminate and educate CNMI members on updates and changes in the StayWell Plan; • Conducts concurrent review activities at CHCC for StayWell members that are admitted as an inpatient; • Provides in-patient referral entry for CNMI members. |
