| Job Duties: | Oral health instruction and disease prevention education, including nutritional counseling and dietary analysis; *Preliminary charting of the oral cavity; *Taking intra-oral and extra-oral photographs; *Exposing and developing radiographs; *Prophylaxis or removal of stains, accretions, or deposits and polishing of the coronal portion of the teeth above the cemento enamel junction (CEJ) *Application of topical preventive or prophylactic agents, including fluoride varnishes. *Pit and fissure sealants, but not fissurotomies, on primary and permanent teeth; *Pulp vitality testing; *Application of desensitizing agents on primary or permanent teeth; *Placement of temporary restorations on primary or permanent teeth; *Placement and removal of restorative bands; *Placement, shaping, polishing, and adjustment of restorative materials or fillings on primary or permanent teeth after tooth preparation is completed by a licensed dentist; *Fabrication and cementation of temporary crowns on permanent teeth; *Placement and removal of space maintainers on primary teeth; *Suture removal and dressing changes; *Impressions for, and delivery of, occlusal guards, athletic mouth guards, and whitening trays (but not laser bleaching); *Impressions for removable prosthetics; *Tissue conditioning and soft reline for removable prosthetics; |
