| Job Duties: | The custodian performs custodial and maintenance duties in and around campus facilities; troubleshoots, performs minor repairs; and responds to emergency calls for service; implements setup and take down for a wide variety of campus and community events; work closely with employees and the public to meet the custodial needs of the area; resolves problems to ensure efficient and safe operations; perform errands, check mails, and other related duties as assigned. Applicants must be able to: physically and efficiently perform the duties of the position; Work rotating work schedules during the day; Substantiate through documentation, proof of specialized training, experience, and skills in plumbing, electricity, and must be a certified Air condition technician; Schedule, coordinate, direct, and perform routine and comprehensive custodial maintenance of assigned facilities; Remove trash in accordance with established procedures; Report and respond to emergency calls for custodial assistance; Respond to service requests, coordinate resources, and implement the set up and take down of furniture and equipment for a wide variety of campus and community events; Perform various maintenance and custodial duties such as installation and repair of fixtures in restrooms, labs and classrooms; Troubleshoot and repair minor plumbing and electrical problems; replaces a variety of light bulbs and lighting accessories; Maintain inventory and submit written request for equipment, materials, and supplies; Test and evaluate new equipment and materials; operate power equipment such as pressure washers, hand and power tools, and school vehicles; Maintain school grounds. |
