| Job Title: | Air conditioning installation technician |
| Job Duties: | Install and repairs, air-condition/refrigeration systems according to blueprints and engineering specifications, using knowledge of air-condition/refrigeration structural layout, functions, and designs of the components, plus manage other related duties. The air conditioning installation technician is responsible for maintaining the air conditioning and refrigeration equipment for a resort and employee housing by making necessary repairs and conducting preventative maintenance according to established refrigeration guidelines. The technician is responsible for observing and testing system operation, using gauges and instrument, in addition to adjusting valves according to specifications, and maintaining the system with the appropriate refrigerant by pumping specified gas or fluid into the system. Responsible for testing lines, components, and connections for leaks, dismantling malfunctioning systems and testing components, using electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic testing equipment. The technician is responsible for adjusting or replacing worn or defective mechanisms and parts, and reassemble repaired systems, as well as brazing and soldering parts to repair defective joints and leaks. The technician will perform mechanical overhauls and refrigerant reclaiming and keep records of repairs and replacements made and causes of malfunctions. The technician will be responsible for installing expansion and control valves, using acetylene torches and wrenches and installing wiring to connect components to an electric power source. |

| Qualification Requirements: | Requires post-secondary instruction from technical and trade schools or community colleges that offer programs in air-conditioning and refrigeration and/or associate's degree. Completion of an apprenticeship program or three (3) years of experience as an A/C refrigeration technician. Must be able to read schematic and electrical wiring and control diagram and must be able electrical control and air quality, perform a wide array of duties, inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot centralized A/C and cooling tower including all related equipment Must be able to install and repair industrial and commercial refrigeration systems. Must be able to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, evenings and/or weekends. Must obtain CNMI Driver’s license upon start of employment. |
