| Job Duties: | Does word processing and typing of legal documents, pleadings, and correspondence under the supervision of the attorney. Perform secretarial duties using legal terminology, procedures, and documents. Prepare legal papers and correspondence, such as summonses, complaints, motions, and subpoenas. Copies, scans and organizes documents. Does electronic filing of documents with the Supreme and Superior Courts, U.S. District Court and 9th Circuit Court of Appeals. Communicates with clients and other individuals to answer questions, disseminate or explain information. Answers telephones, direct calls and take messages. Compiles, sorts and files records of business transactions and cases. Records and proofreads data and other information, such as records or reports. Maintains and updates case files of attorney. Maintains and updates attorneys’ appointment, hearing calendar and due dates for responses. Prepares attorneys’ timesheets and enters billable hours in Timeslips billing software. Operates office machines such as photocopiers, scanners, facsimile machines, computers, voice mail systems and recorders. Arranges for delivery of legal documents to clients, witnesses, courts, agencies, attorneys or other persons. Performs other related duties as assigned. |

| Qualification Requirements: | Requires at least an associate degree, bachelor’s degree preferred. A minimum of five years of work-related skill, knowledge or experience in a law firm. Must have extensive knowledge in computer and computer applications such as Word, Word Perfect, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, and Tabs 3 legal billing software. Must have knowledge of legal terminology and procedures. Competency in electronic filing using File & Serve Xpress and PACER. Requires ability to work under pressure. Must type a minimum of 50 words per minute. Applicants will be tested onsite. |
