Job Title: Corporate Paralegal Officer
Job Duties: Researches law, investigates facts, and prepares documents to assist LAWYER Researches and analyzes law sources such as statutes, recorded judicial decisions, legal articles, treaties, constitutions, and legal codes to prepare legal documents, such as briefs, pleadings, appeals, wills, contracts, initial and amended articles of incorporation, stock certificates and other securities, buy-sell agreements, closing papers and binders, deeds, and trust instruments for review, approval, and use by attorney. Appraises and inventories real and personal property for estate planning. Investigates facts and law of case to determine causes of action and to prepare case accordingly. May direct and coordinate activities of law office employees.May specialize in litigation, probate, real estate, or corporation law. May act as arbitrator and liaison between disputing parties. May act as law librarian, keeping and monitoring legal volumes and ensuring legal volumes are up-to-date. Gathers and analyzes research data, such as statutes, decisions, and legal articles, codes, and documents. Prepares legal documents, including briefs, pleadings, appeals, wills, contracts, and real estate closing statements. Investigates facts and law of cases to determine causes of action and to prepare cases. Prepares affidavits or other documents, maintains document file, and files pleadings with court clerk. Arbitrates disputes between parties and assists in real estate closing process. Answers questions regarding legal issues pertaining to civil service hearings. Directs and coordinates law office activity, including delivery of subpoenas. Presents arguments and evidence to support appeal at appeal hearing
High School Diploma Required? Undetermined
Qualification Requirements: Bachelor degree in paralegal studies or in any related field. Minimum of 3 years experience providing sound legal research, reliable litigation support and preparation of legal documents, pleadings and contracts. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Familiarity with Lexis - Nexis and Pacer - ECF is required
