Job Title: | Power Plant Operator |
Job Duties: | Adjust controls to generate specified electrical power or to regulate the flow of power between generating stations and substations. See more occupations related to this task. Monitor power plant equipment and indicators to detect evidence of operating problems. See more occupations related to this task. Control generator output to match the phase, frequency, or voltage of electricity supplied to panels. See more occupations related to this task. Control or maintain auxiliary equipment, such as pumps, fans, compressors, condensers, feedwater heaters, filters, or chlorinators, to supply water, fuel, lubricants, air, or auxiliary power. See more occupations related to this task. Control power generating equipment, including boilers, turbines, generators, or reactors, using control boards or semi-automatic equipment. Operates and maintains power plant machinery and systems. Makes periodic inspection rounds of generator equipment, system/facility and monitors equipment operation to ensure uninterrupted power to transmitters and associated ancillary equipment. Maintains records of assigned tasks and inspections. Perform maintenance and checks on the following type systems: HVAC, Waste treatment systems, Fuel transfer equipment, water treatment systems. Performs other related duties as assigned. |
