Job Duties: | Determine the quantity and orientation of cargo and compute an aircraft's center of gravity. Direct ground crews in the loading, unloading, securing, or staging of aircraft cargo or baggage. Train new employees in areas such as safety procedures or equipment operation. Distribute cargo in such a manner that space use is maximized. Calculate load weights for different aircraft compartments, using charts and computers. Manage and coordinate the activities of ground crew in aircraft ground servicing, fuel servicing, customer service, fire safety, loading, unloading, securing, and staging of aircraft cargo or baggage and passengers. Specific tasks: • Provides initial and recurrent instruction for Fire Safety in accordance with the requirements of Title 14 §139.321(b)(1) through (b)(6) and §139.321 (e)(2) of the US Code of Federal Regulations, and the company’s General Operations Manual. • Responsible for the implementation of the company’s Spill, Prevention, Control and Countermeasures Plan (SPCC) in accordance with Title 40 Part 112 of the US Code of Federal Regulations. • Provides guidance to appropriate personnel for matters relating to the company’s policy on Hazardous Materials (Hazmat) including conferring with agents, pilots, shippers, and other personnel in the acceptance of Hazmat onboard the aircraft, conducting regular inspection and audit of Hazmat records. • Oversees aircraft re-fueling operations in all re-fueling facilities of the company to include completion and maintenance of required fuel and equipment logs/paperwork, fuel sumping, and regular fuel quality control inspections. • Provides initial and recurrent Hazmat training as required as required by governmental directives. • Ensures that line service operations and practices meet federal, state, and agency requirements. • Assists arriving customers by meeting aircraft on tarmac, directing pilots to unloading area, towing/parking aircraft to assign locations, and providing shuttle services to/from airport, hotels, and restaurants. • Coordinates with various Station and Cargo Leads to ensure safe handling, loading, unloading of cargo and baggage in the aircraft. • Monitors safety practices and procedures on the ramp, and makes necessary recommendations to the President for policy creation, change, or improvements. • Responds to customer concerns and provides solutions as necessary • Ensures that ground service, fueling, and hangar equipment/supplies are in a safe working manner • Serves as senior management in absence of Operations Manager or General Manager |

Qualification Requirements: | • High school diploma. Some previous work-related skill, knowledge, or experience is usually needed.Employees in these occupations need anywhere from a few months to one year of working with experienced employees. These occupations often involve using your knowledge and skills to help others. Some vocational or college education preferred. • Must have 3 years of experience in Line Service. Experience working for a US air carrier as defined in Title 14 Part 119 of the US Code of Federal Regulations highly preferred. • Must have a current Professional Line Service Training from an organization accredited by the US Federal Aviation Administration. • Knowledge in provisions of the Hazardous Materials Regulations (HMR) found in appropriate portions of Title 49 and Title 14 of the Code of Federal Regulations, the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), and the International Air Transport Association (IATA) highly preferred. • Computer literate • Must be willing and able to work a combination of shifts within a 24 hour period (including weekends and holidays) as may be required by the company. • Physically able to lift items of at least 50 lbs. , and able perform work outside and in extreme temperatures and inclement weather. • Hardworking, self-starter, dependable and able to work in a multicultural environment. |
