Job Duties: | 1. Analyze information in personal and commercial lines insurance applications by applying sound judgment and company policy and regulations within established underwriting guidelines and authority to determine if risks are acceptable 2. Underwrite insurance risks in accordance with the underwriting authority to meet business objectives including negotiating rates, terms and conditions for existing and new business, consistently through in carrying out all detail of job and error free. 3. Communicates commercial goals, generate new submissions and facilitates the profitable growth of the commercial portfolio via professional management and agents and brokerage relationship. 4. Adhere to underwriting standards, instructions and good practice to minimize risk and maximize efficiency. 5. Establish and maintain relationships with producers and customers to understand their needs and sell products that respond to their needs. 6. Maintains a positive working rapport with the agents and brokerage force to promote awareness of our products and procedures. 7. Contribute to assigned special projects as assigned by Management. 8. Contribute to positive work environment by demonstrating and influencing others to enhance performance and value "can do" people, accountability, diversity, flexibility, continuous improvement, collaboration and creativity. 9. Adopt company’s core values in personal work behaviors and decision making. 10. Submit Backlog Report daily to provide weekly and monthly status on all accounts being handled. 11. Assist receptionist a receptionist in answering telephone calls in a pleasant manner; take messages and distribute them accordingly. 12. Assist other underwriters when needed. 13. Support Department goals and objectives. 14. Performs other duties as assigned. |
